Yes. Bus tires can be retreaded or recapped when the tire and casing are suitable for retreading. Retreaded tires may be fitted on drive and/or tag axles, but not on front axles. Certain Michelin X® Incity® tires are designed for multiple lives through retreading
The weight of a bus tire varies depending on the tire size, design and application. Bus tires are generally heavier than passenger vehicle tires because they are designed to support greater loads and withstand demanding commercial operating conditions. Check the specifications for the individual Michelin tire to find its weight.
Michelin winter tires for buses exist only as a retread offer for drive axles. However, the full range of Michelin X® INCITY tires ensures grip and is adapted for different types of weather, for all positions. They are all marked 3PMSF.
The number of tires on a school bus depends on the size and configuration of the vehicle. Many school buses use two tires on the front axle and four tires on the rear axle, for a total of six tires, while other configurations may use a different number. Check the vehicle specifications to confirm the tire configuration for your school bus.
