FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR TIRE CRANE
The main sizes regarding the mobile crane tires are :
For All Terrain crane: 445/95R25, 525/80R25, and 385/95R25
For Mobile Tower crane: 385/95R25 and 445/75R22,5
For Rough Terrain crane: 29.5R25, 23.5-R25 and 385/95R25
The crane tire weight varies according to tire size, from around 220 lbs (100kg) for the smallest tire to almost 1,322 lbs (600kg) for the largest.
The right pressure is dependent on the crane tire size:
- 445/95R25, 385/95R25 and 445/75R22,5 is 9 Bar or 131 PSI
- 525/80R25 is at 7 Bar or 102 PSI
For the others one, please refer to each product sheet. The correct tire pressure should always be followed during cold temperatures.
Check cold pressure regularly and adjust accordingly. A TPMS or a Tire Pressure Monitoring System can help you to monitor that. Rotate tires every 6,000 miles (10,000km) or every year, left/right, axle to axle, to optimize potential irregular wear and carry out regular vehicle maintenance as recommended by manufacturer.
