The right tractor tire pressure can help improve performance on agricultural soils, reduce soil compaction and slippage, support fuel efficiency and help optimize tire life.

What Is the Best Tire Pressure Gauge for Tractors?

For reliable measurements, Michelin recommends using a tire pressure gauge that is independent from the gauge on the compressor. A precision digital or needle pressure gauge with a range of 0 to 4 bar (0 to 60 PSI) is recommended.

Check the gauge’s accuracy over time by comparing its measurements with a more recent manometer. Humidity, weather and impacts can cause pressure gauges to go out of adjustment, resulting in actual tire pressure that differs from the displayed measurement.

Accurate pressure measurement is important because under-inflation can contribute to tire carcass damage, faster or irregular wear and increased fuel consumption. Over-inflation can reduce traction and decrease the tire footprint, which can increase soil compaction.
