Thanks to our collaboration with OEMs and industry leaders, Michelin carefully designed forklift tires to meet your specific requirements and environment. In open and outdoor environments such as ports, penumatic tires provide an attractive option due to their commonly-utilized dual mounting at the front, which guarantees high stability. Our forklift tires' robustness allows you to transport heavy loads over long distances. The low rate of wear contributes to an extended service life. Ultimately, this results in improved operational efficiency and increased productivity in addition to hourly output.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs) ABOUT FORKLIFT TIRES
- Cushion or Press-On Forklift tires are made of a solid rubber tread layer bonded to a cylindrical steel band and then mounted onto a steel hub using a press. For most applications forklift cushion tires are smooth, providing excellent maneuverability on dry and even warehouse floors.
- Pneumatic forklift tires are similar to tires on your car or truck. They are made of a very strong, long-lasting rubber, but are filled with air instead of being solid rubber. They are the same size as solid pneumatic tires and work well on rough, outdoor terrain, such as unpaved surfaces.
- Airless radial forklift tires are airless, but not solid – providing outstanding stability and handling with no flats or under-inflated tires to slow you down. Airless radial tires, like TWEEL, help reduce “bounce” compared to pneumatic or solid tires.
In general, forklifts are designed to be equipped with either airless or pneumatic tires. The decision on which type of tire to use typically depends on the specific requirements and conditions of the forklift's operating environment. To ensure safety and compliance with design specifications, it is essential to seek advice from the forklift manufacturer or a qualified professional before making any modifications.
To determine when it is time to replace a penumatic tire, you should monitor the tread wear. The tread depth is a reliable indicator. Once you notice the tire structure becoming visible, it is crucial to replace it immediately. Don't forget to check your tire pressure regularly. Regular maintenance and timely forklift tire replacement contribute to safety, performance and longevity. When in doubt about the condition of a tire, it is advisable to consult a professional.
