GRADER TIRES – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MUCH DOES A MOTOR GRADER TIRE WEIGHT?

The motor grader tire weight depends of the size. The average the grader tire weight is between 220 lbs to 1,100 lbs (100 kg to 500 kg). A dump truck tires wheigh between 500 lbs to 3,300 lbs (230 kg and 1500 kg).

WHAT IS THE RIGHT MOTOR GRADER TIRE PRESSURE?


The motor grader pressure should not be higher than 4,000 bar to optimize the leveling cycle. On the road the pressure can be increased for lower fuel comsumption.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT GRADER TIRES?

The grader tires must be choosen depending of the risk of puncture and the type of soil. If you are in very agressive conditions, you need a Michelin XLDD2 tread pattern. If you are going to be on the road where you'll have higher traction, the recommendation is to use Michelin XHA2 or Michlelin XTLA tread patern. Discover our article to choose your tires.
